Friday.

Well, folks, we made it to Friday!!!

And what a beautiful Friday it is here in the little village of Orangeville. This weekend is the Orangeville annual fall fair so I'll be taking the girls to experience small town charm with a country flare. :)
You can really start to see "fall" in the air - it's crisp in the morning and chilly at night ... and the trees are even beginning to turn (can you BELIEVE that?!) and, of course, all the lovely children are returning to school next week. Ahhhh, fall ... what a beautiful time of year.

I'm just finishing up the proofs from this session. There were so many that were my favourites, it was hard to narrow them down ...

I'll be shooting their wedding next year and I'm looing forward to it! :)

Are you going to get sick of my sisters' post? Sorry ... but hey, I have two girls ... so yeah, there are going to be loads of sister-posts in the future! Just warning you. :) ALTHOUGH ........... I *DID* have my ultrasound on Saturday and ...... drumroll please!!! ............... I found out the sex of our new baby! Wahooooo! Super cool and exciting .... but it's a major secret (even from my husband!) so I can't tell you if you will see any sisters-plus-one-brother or sisters-plus-baby-sis posts in the future!

Anyway ... back to the sisters ...

I want curls.

I've always wanted curly hair.

I think my obsession with the desire to have curly locks started with my first obsession - Anne of Green Gables. Yes, I can admit I really, really REAAALLY loved Anne Shirley during my childhood years. Her fun attitude, her poetic spirit, her love and zeal for life and adventure ... oh heck, who am I kidding? I still LOVE that Anne girl even today! (In fact, yes, I have one of the Anne series' books lying here beside my bed to read at night and I have all the movies on DVD). I'm an Anne fan.

Well, beacuse I loved Anne so much, I always wanted her gorgeous curly hair.

Instead, the dear Lord blessed me with POKER STRAIGHT hair. Straight. So straight.

*sigh*

That is why when I get a child like this in front of my lens, I do a happy dance inside!!

Of course, his newborn brother was also so incredible and tiny and cute as a button ...

Ahhh. Brotherhood. It's so special.

All these lovely newborns have really made me curious to see what my own little newborn will look like ... I've hit 20 weeks now and had the ultrasound last week. I cried when I saw little Baby Gauthier #3. It's always such an amazing moment to see them kick around and move and wiggle ... and then hearing it's tiny little heart beat ... wow! What a miracle, growing inside as we speak!

Hmmm ... it''s been slow a little on the maternity portraits lately - maybe it's just baby/family season - so I'd like to give away a complimentary 8x10 portrait for the next person who books their maternity session with me. I know there are a few ladies out there that were thinking of e-mailing me ... now's your chance!!!

Have you thought much about how PRECIOUS your family is to you lately?

My sister has been visiting Ontario for a few weeks ... it's been wonderful having her home again and so sad to see her and her beautiful children go back home. They left yesterday to return to Alberta, where they moved to live just over a year ago. We already miss them ... family is so special and should be cherished. I'm so blessed to have such a great family. Isn't love and family and making memories what life is all about?

Droopy eyes.

I had planned to do an all-nighter tonight ... but it's nearly just after 1 a.m. and I can't keep my eyes open any longer. *sigh* Where did all that energy go from my college years? Oh yeah. Forgot. I traded it in for a hubby, two kids, a baby on the way and a household that needs cleaning. ;)

I did, however, shoot a super fun and fabulous session this morning for a dear friend (and now client) of mine ... can't wait to look through his images! I have been catching up - or trying to - on proofing my sessions and placing orders. Everything is so busy - crazy how things just suddenly get REALLY busy. The summer has been nice and relaxing but I can feel things starting to get a little 'hyper' on the way to a busy September/October/November for me!

Isn't he just too cute for words? I think I'll put this one on my new website... yes, NEW website!! I am getting my website redesigned and updated! I can't WAIT for it to be done! Yayy! And with my new sign out front of my studio and my new snazzy website (courtesy of Jason Sturgeon of Sturgeon Design  - www.sturgeondesign.com -  check him out! He's fabulous!!!!), I'm excited to start up the busy, yet fun and adventurous, season of fall! Bring it on!!

Back!

Well, we're back! We made it back in one piece, thankfully, and had a fabulous mini-getaway. :) Camping is fun but more fun in an RV! LOL! I was very thankful for a "real" bed ... ahhhh ...

Anyway, now it's catch-up time with my workload! If you are waiting on your online galleries, they are coming soon! Promise. I have so many orders and sessions lately it's been tough getting through everything ... but I am making it!

Here's another image I just adore. It's my father (Grandmpa 'Marshie') pushing my girls on the swing outside in our backyard two weeks ago... you have to look closely to see the girls. The tree is so massive, it makes for a great ride!

Good idea or bad?

We're going camping.

As a family, we've never been camping alone. This is a first. Yes, I'm scared.  Will we survive?!?!? Here's hoping!
Okay, but I have to admit, we are taking a camper (VW camper) so it's not all that bad (kind of like a mini RV). We will have eletricity, toilets, showers, stove, fridges - yeah, um, so I guess that's not really camping ... ! LOL! But the weather is looking icky ... and it's kind of cold out so I hope we don't get rained on during the weekend. Send some sun my way!!

Anyway, we're leaving right now and getting back Monday. I'm tempted to take my laptop ... hmmm .... shhh, I think I'm addicted! ;)

I had the pleasure of shooting an engagement session on Saturday night. Such fun!!! We tromped through fields, made our way through the woods to waterfalls, fought off large bugs and had a great time ...

Java.

Just on my way out the door but I wanted to update the blog. Things are so busy lately - not just in the studio but in life! It's a good busy though - summer fun, adventures, visitors, etc. Some NOT FUN - cleaning out the garage (leaving that up to hubby today!), cleaning the house, etc. Yuck. I'd rather be outside! So, I'm sitting here, sipping my morning coffee, getting ready to head into the day for another adventure ... I would be done this post by now but I keep getting interrupted by two tiny little people, running around me and my laptop ... hmmm ... guess I should update my blog either late at night or very early in the morning!

I had some lovely clients in the studio yesterday with their sweet baby boy ... he's already 16 lbs and only around 7 weeks old! I love photographing babies - they are such sweet little bundles!

I'm still waiting for my sign to be made for my studio. I'm ANXIOUSLY waiting. Er, rather, impatiently waiting. I can't wait to hang it up! I hope it's done soon - promise you ... when it's hung, I will be taking a picture and posting it here on the blog!
