Gigi Photography is in the process of moving locations ... it will be a while before I'm online again so this may be me last post for a while yet. I'll be sure to keep clients up to date on any orders they have placed over the past few weeks - some of the orders all arrived tonight so those who have already been waiting, you will be getting some phone calls! (It figures - the orders show up on the NIGHT we're actually moving! Yikes!) Any orders placed between June- July will be delayed due to the move. I apologize for any troubles this may cause.

In the meantime, everyone - have a great week, stay cool (ohhh, it's hot outside!) and enjoy your family!

Here's a picture from one of my families from last week - great bunch to work with! They were a little afraid of getting dirty on the ground, but I convinced them to toss their shoes and sit for a while ... ;)

    See you all soon! :D

    Lesson learned.

Okay, I learned a lot today.

Lesson 1) Don't eat a muffin while painting walls. (I dropped a gazillion crumbs into the paint can and now they're on my daughter's bedroom wall. Albeit now they are pink. Oops.)

Lesson 2) Don't expect your husband to be you in different skin. (ie. Abby and I work at different speeds - I need to come to terms with that!)

Today we worked on the house again. Today we packed boxes. Today we moved boxes. Today we cleaned two houses (the old house and the new house).

My hubby and I have been working diligently on our new (century old!) home ... and it's quite the task. I'm exhausted. He's exhausted. And the kids are exhausted. If I ever see another SHRED of wallpaper, I will probably die! Seriously. At least we're at the painting stage. That's a relief.

Here's what we did all weekend - this is my helpful mother, who will probably kill me for posting this on the internet!

    Ugh, eh? Ugh.

Lesson 3: God always has something up his sleeve for your life! (You may not know what's around the corner, but He does so hold on for a crazy ride!)

On top of all of this wrapping up last minute orders, proofing, moving and packing and getting the new house ready and getting the old house ready ......... I have found out that we are having another baby!

We are very excited and both Abby and I feel extremely blessed - although this little addition wasn't planned! LOL! I know how special and wonderful every new baby is ... I look forward to meeting this new little Gauthier baby! Ahh, but listen to me - that's still nine long months away!
In the meantime, I'm dealing with a pregnant woman's worst nightmare: an acute sense of smell.
Okay, okay - so it might not be the WORST nightmare (try childbirth!), but it is pretty bad for me. Any and every odour, including the lightest, faintest perfume, makes feel extremely sick. I know this awful torture will end soon (hopefully it won't last nine months!) but in the meantime, someone mail me some nose plugs!

Okay, on to work. Here's a lovely gal from one of the Curves' model shoots I mentioned in the last entry. Some of you may have seen her before on my blog and/or website ... she's a regular at Gigi Photography! Aren't I lucky?

Shelley, chin up, girl! Your day will be sunny and bright tomorrow!

    Role Models.

I had the pleasure of photographing six *lovely* ladies last week ... all were selected as the Orangeville Curve's Next Top Role Models and will be featured inside the gym on various marketing materials and possibly even in a magazine spread (details to be announced) ...! Exciting news for these gals! Each one was selected for either meeting their weight loss goals or by being consistent at the gym for several months, weeks, etc.

So just sharing one picture for now ... here's the lovely Evelyn of Orangeville. I think she looks gorgeous! We had to think on our toes during this shoot because it started to POUR rain and a major thunderstorm rolled in just as we were set to go to our location ....

Also ............... I have my new phone number for the new studio in Orangeville .... make sure to write this down! As of June 28th, the studio phone number will be:

The address of the studio is:

    12 York Street, Orangeville, Ontario.
    By appointment only.

I will have this information listed on my website for all my clients to find easily but wanted to post it now on the blog. :) Since my internet will be down for a few days (maybe a few weeks since it's an century old location and apparently has never had internet there! Yikes!) in the move and transfer, any orders placed from June-July will be processed upon availability - meaning, if I have no internet set up, then I can't place orders so please bear with me as I make all the necessary adjustments to my studio. As mentioned before, bookings are being taken for September & October, but the summer months are filled. If you are having a baby or are considering newborn photos, please call or e-mail me and I will do my best to work you into the summer schedule as I know how important the first few weeks of life are to us ... :)

    Pick more daisies.

"If I had my life to live over I'd like to make more mistakes next time.
I'd relax. I would limber up. I would be sillier than I have been this trip.

I would take fewer things seriously. I would take more chances. I would climb more mountains and swim more rivers.

I would eat more ice cream and less beans. I would perhaps have more actual trouble, but I'd have fewer imaginary ones. You see, I'm one of those people who live sensibly and sanely hour after hour, day after day. Oh, I've had my moments, and if I had to do it over again, I'd have more of them. In fact, I'd try to have nothing else. Just moments, one after another, instead of living so many years ahead of each day ...

If I had to do it again, I would travel lighter than I have.
If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall. I would go to more dances. I would ride more merry-go-rounds ...
    I would pick more daisies."

... just two pictures of my girls from a day of 'picking more daisies' ... enjoying the moments of everday life with my children ...

Well, I can't believe this time is almost here! My baby turns 12 months old- yes, one year! - next month. In fact, today is her 11 month birthday. :) It honestly feels like yesterday that I was in the hospital, holding her for the first time, taking in her beauty, snuggling her ...

Little Lyla has been such an incredible additon to our family - I cannot imagine one day without her. My daughters are great friends already which makes my heart so happy! I know they will have their moments but I do see a bond forming that will be strong in future years.

So, in honour of my little Tarzan's 11 month birthday, I bought an antique couch, dragged it out into the country and stopped traffic (well, there really wasn't any cars on the road) so I could take her picture on it. (Yes, I think I'm a little crazy!)

I love you, sweet Precious Lyla.

I had a lovely session just a few days ago with a family friend and her two kiddos and hubby ... we had a great time! We picked a country road out in the Hockley Valley and just let the kids be kids! I love to see a family interact together ... makes for great, natural images!

    When we are happy
    our face begins to smile
    even we're unhappy
    we can put it on

    What brings us smile
    is the big sun
    It might stay a while
    It might rain, again

    When we see
    our funny cat or dog
    does things that we
    begin to smile

    Our smiling face
    cheers people up
    to make a happy place
    for us all

Happy Birthday, Noah! I hope you have a fabulous first birthday!

Quick sidenote! September and October are filling fast ... there is only one weekend left in September and one left in October. If you are looking to book your session, don't wait too long or you will miss an opening! E-mail me at to reserve your date. :)

    Hug your little one.

Another sneak peek for one of my clients ... :) ... online gallery coming soon!

"Kiss your child and experience the angelic breath penetrate your spirit.

Hug your child and embrace the warmth and precious touch of the divine.

Each day remain mindful of the extraordinary blessing you have been given and remain present each moment of your time shared together."

"I remember Daddy´s hands, folded silently in prayer.
And reaching out to hold me, when I had a nightmare.
You could read quite a story, in the callouses and lines.
Years of work and worry had left their mark behind.
I remember Daddy´s hands, how they held my Mama tight,
And patted my back, for something done right.
There are things that I´ve forgotten, that I loved about the man,
But I´ll always remember the love in Daddy´s hands."
