    Love enough for two.

Before I became pregnant with my second baby, I thought I was satisfied to just have one child.  I felt happy, fulfilled, and wondered how I could ever love a second baby the same way.

Well, it just happens, doesn't it moms? Your heart grows, the love is abundant and your second baby is welcome and loved and adored - just as your first was all those years ago.

I first shot this little guy's newborn pictures nearly two years ago. Here is he now, blessed with the arrival of his baby sister ... they will be great pals together growing up being so close in age. You can just tell even now!

I have some more really cute ones to share from this session, but it will have to wait. My little baby just woke up!

    Today is April 28th.

Today my older and only sister, Angela, celebrates her birthday.

Today is the first time I haven't been able to give her a hug and a kiss on her birthday.

Less than a year ago, my sister and her family moved across Canada for work-related reasons. Since then, I have only seen her once at Christmas time. I miss her dearly. As some of my readers will know (those of you with sisters, anyway), there's something VERY special to be shared between sisters.

As Margaret Mead said, "Sistershood is probably the most competitive relationship within the family, but once the sisters are grown, it becomes the strongest relationship. "

I am so thankful I have been blessed with a sister ... even though, when we teenagers, my sis told me I never stopped talking and found me annoying  (hah! Still true!!) ... and I tattled on my sister like a little snitch and borrowed her things without asking. As little girls, we played Barbies or "house" together ... she was always the mom when we played make-believe. I guess that comes with the role of the oldest child. She made great bologna-melted-cheese-snacks and was so creative in the kitchen (still true yet again!) when she was babysitting me and my brother.

I would never ever trade my sister for anything in the world. I love her dearly. I miss her dearly. I treasure her with all my heart. I wish I could be there with you, Ang, to give you a birthday hug, but please just know that you are in my thoughts.

Bless you, my darling, and remember you are always in the heart - oh tucked so close there is no chance of escape - of your sister.  ~Katherine Mansfield

    Happy Birthday, Ang.

(One of the last photos I took of her before she moved ...)

    Pink colours.

Spring must be the right time to have a baby. I'll have to remember that for the future. ;) (Just teasing my hubby here ... lol!) I think 90% of my session since March have been babies, more specifically newborns. Now that the warmer weather is here (finalllyyyyy!!), I will be doing mainly outdoor sessions, which I absolutely love and adore. I cannot wait to do some outdoor stuff - I have so many ideas bursting out of my head, it's not funny! Fun!

Just wanted to share this little sweetie pie who visited the studio last week. I think she had spring on her mind, as well!

and since I have been told by some of my faithful blog readers (you know who you are, girls! hee hee!) that they are always looking for more pics of my girls, here are a few ...

Ahhhh. It feels *GREAT* to be outside again!

Wish I could say these are my flowers but that would be a big fat lie. Hah!

In the next few days, I will be announcing another contest - this time, it will be to help out Bosom Budies (, a charity organization in South Africa that delivers goodies, clothes and necessities to newborn babies and their mothers in several of their local South African hospitals. I will be posting the details soon - I promise ...! :D

Okay, I have to share these two little CPs - aka. CutiePatooties. :) Such little dolls they were! Gracyn and his big sister, Nyah, were so adorable together! I love sibling shots, especially now that I have two children or my own. To get a good shot of your multiple children together is priceless!

I just wanted to thank all my clients - returning and new ones - for their fabulous support and business! I am so happy to see my business growing because that only means I get to meet more lovely and gorgeous babies and fabulous kids and their wonderful families! Thank you all for keeping Gigi Photography alive and growing in leaps and bounds! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! :)

    I've been framed.

A few days ago, I was contacted by a local business woman to do some headshots for her brochures .... and she just happens to also be my frame supplier! ;) Barb Russell of Island Lake Traditions ( has been working with me to provide the best of the best when it comes to custom framing. She's super fabulous and creates the most wonderful frames for me and my clients! If you have framing needs, *Barb* is the one to go to.

Also, Gigi Photography clients receive 10% off their orders ... ;)

Just a side note, these images were shot just down the street from my studio at an old church. I'm always on the lookout for neat, interesting places to incorporate into my sessions. If any of you know of some places that are just BEGGING to be used in a photography session, please do share! I'm always looking for new and interesting places to shoot at ... e-mail me at if you have any tips. :)

Ohhhh yayyyyy! Spring is REEEALLY here! I mean it - this time, I think it's staying for real! :) FINALLY! I can shoot all those outdoor sessions that I have planned/booked for late April and May!

I am, however, very sick right now. I don't know if it's allergies or a cold but it's slowing me down a little bit.

I did manage to get a few pictures of my girls yesterday. We have company here from England, so we took them out to see some of the lovely sights of Headwaters Country. We really do live in a beautiful area.

and little Miss L showcasing her new wings ....

I'll be posting some sneak peek images for my clients soon ... just have to get some model release forms signed! ;)

    Enjoy the beautiful, glorious sunshine!

It's Monday. Good morning. I'm not very creative this morning in my writing as you can see by the title of this post! Hah! I guess I need some more coffee - or maybe more sleep. Staying up late and getting up early to get all my proofing done does not help my brain, obviously!

One of my lovely clients has been waiting for her proofs so I thought I would share a sneak peek here on the blog for her .... it was awesome meeting this cute little family. So much fun and so easy to get along with, not to mention a beautiful baby boy ...Proof_1 I think this is my favourite image of him.

I also had the privilege of shooting a precious newborn baby girl yesterday ... oh gosh ... I cannot stress how much I love taking portraits of these little ones! It's such a special time in their lives and every day has new changes and moments for these babies. I am so honoured to be able to capture a moment in their lives! I think I have the best job ever! ;)
I'll post a sneak peek of yesterday's session in a bit but for now I leave you with this:

"Happiness resides not in posessions and not in gold; the feeling of happiness dwells in the soul."

    Have a great day everyone.

Just in time for Mother's Day!

If you're like me, you've already been asked by your husband, "Umm, so ... gosh, what do you want for Mother's Day?!?!?" And then, the dreaded thing happens - your mind goes blank! But wait, didn't you have a list 10 miles long as to what you needed or wanted for this Mother's Day?!?! Why is that we can't think of anything when our darling hubbies ask that magic question?!

    Well, stress no longer.

Gigi Photography has your PERFECT Mother's Day gift this year - a photo purse, made from the finest quality, printed with your favourite Gigi Photography portrait for you to show off to all your envious friends and relatives for years to come.

I have been trying to find a purse collection to offer for some time but was not overly impressed with anything the market was offering ... until now.

You *have* to see these in person - for once in my life, I might just think that these pictures just don't do the purse justice!

Available now is the Lacey Purse, which measures  8.5” x 6” x 3”; photo panel dimensions: 6” x 8.5", Exterior is made of microfiber; interior is made of ribbed faille, snap-flap closure with patented magnetic nickel snap. Toss in your wallet, cell phone and lip gloss and you're good to go!

The Lyla Purse is fantastic for those days you need to carry more than just your compact and wallet ... this bag gracefully can tote around a few diapers, wipes, your Blackberry, water bottle and much more! This purses'  dimensions are 13” x 9.75” x 5.5”; photo panel dimensions: 9.25” x 15.

Be the talk of all your friends this Mother's Day with these fabulous bags! E-mail me ( for pricing details and ordering information. It seems like Mother's Day is far off still - with Easter just ending - but it's just around the corner! Now go tell your hubby how FABULOUS one of these purses would be slung across your shoulder this Mother's Day!

And don't forget Grandma either! We all know she would be the happiest gramma around if she had her special grandkids' photos right on the front of her purse!

Three dinners and six lbs. later ...

Well, Easter has come and gone. I meant to make a post during the weekend but it was quite a busy one! I hope you all had a fabulous long weekend with your family and loved ones ... enjoying lovely meals and fun fellowship. :)

Umm, did anyone eat too much, though?!?!? I know I did!

Just a quick picture of one of my sweet, sweet babies from last week. She was a PERFECT doll during her session! I don't think I can stress how easy she was to work with - she slept the entire time and never once peed on mom or dad (or me!). I honesty think that's a first for me!

And isn't she just the cutest?

Just a quick note to my clients - if you sent me an e-mail or called me this weekend, I was out of the office. I will be returning e-mails and phone calls shortly so please be patient! I had quite a few calls and will be working to catch up on everything over the next few days.  Also, if you have placed an order in the past 5-7 days, I'm working on your orders and getting them placed as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience!

    Happy Easter!

Can you believe this weather??? Brrrrrr. Nothing like getting all dolled up in your Easter dress to step outside and freeze your little legs off!
Two of my nephews, however, braved the cold with me on Good Friday as we waited for the yummy Easter dinner, warming in the oven.

Two cuties to warm my heart, despite the cold setting. :)

After the cold, we warmed up with some homemade pie ... (although I know my MIL would be upset if I posted this picture because she kept saying, "I burnt the pie ...ohhh, I burnt the pie ..." I thought it still tasted yummy!)

Happy Easter, everyone. Blessings to you.
